Privacy Policy
Last updated: REPLACE_DATE · This policy applies to the website europeanspacebond.com. A German-language version is available at privacy-de.html; in case of any discrepancy, the German version governs.
In short. This website does not track you. We use no analytics, no advertising technologies and no cookies that require your consent, which is why you have not been shown a consent banner. You can read every page here without giving us any personal data.
If you choose to sign up for email updates, we process the address you give us — and only for that purpose. The details are set out below.
1. Who is responsible
The controller for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO) is:
European Space Ventures AG
Berger Straße 175
60385 Frankfurt am Main
Germany
Registered at the Commercial Register of the Amtsgericht Frankfurt am Main
under HRB 139086.
Vorstandsvorsitzender: Simon Drake · Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender: Kevin Mac Gowan
Email for data protection enquiries: REPLACE_PRIVACY_EMAIL
We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Art. 37 GDPR or § 38 BDSG and have not appointed one. Please direct all data protection enquiries to the address above.
2. Your rights
In relation to personal data we hold about you, you have the right to:
- request confirmation of whether we process your data, and access to it (Art. 15)
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16)
- have data erased (Art. 17)
- have processing restricted (Art. 18)
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21)
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for us is:
Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
Postfach 3163, 65021 Wiesbaden, Germany
You may also complain to the supervisory authority in the EU Member State of your residence or place of work.
3. Server log files
When you visit this website, our hosting provider's servers automatically record technical information transmitted by your browser:
- IP address
- date and time of the request
- the page or file requested
- HTTP status code and volume of data transferred
- browser type and version, and operating system
- referring URL, where transmitted
This information is recorded by the web server as it answers your request. Nothing is stored on, or read from, your device in order to produce it.
Purpose: operating and securing the website, diagnosing
faults, and detecting and defending against attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is
the secure and stable operation of the website.
Retention: our hosting provider stores visitor IP addresses
in log files for a maximum of seven days, after which they are deleted.
This data is not combined with other data sources, is not used to build profiles, and is not used to identify individual visitors.
4. Hosting
This website is hosted by STRATO AG, REPLACE_STRATO_ADDRESS, Germany. STRATO processes the data described in section 3 on our behalf as a processor, on the basis of a data processing agreement concluded under Art. 28 GDPR. STRATO operates its data centres in Berlin and Karlsruhe, Germany. No data is transferred outside the European Economic Area.
Our hosting package includes access to aggregated access statistics — page views, referring sites, browser types and similar figures. These are generated from the server log files described in section 3. They involve no cookies and no tracking technologies, and they do not allow individual visitors to be identified.
5. Cookies, tracking and analytics
This website sets no cookies that require your consent, and uses no analytics, advertising, profiling or tracking technologies. In particular, we do not use Google Analytics or any comparable service, and we embed no third-party fonts, maps, videos or social media plugins.
This is why you are not asked to accept cookies when you arrive. Storing information on your device, or accessing information already stored there, requires consent under § 25(1) TDDDG — and we do neither.
Your browser may hold a temporary session cookie for the duration of your visit. It stores no information about you and is deleted when you close your browser. Under § 25(2) TDDDG this is strictly necessary to deliver the website and does not require consent.
If we ever introduce a technology that does require consent, we will ask for it before that technology loads, and we will update this policy first.
6. Email updates (sign-up form)
You can ask us to send you information about the European Space Bond by email. This is entirely voluntary; you can read the whole of this website without providing any personal data.
What we collect
- Required
- Your email address. Without it we cannot send you anything.
- Optional
- First name, last name, company or organisation, and country. You may leave all of these blank. We ask for country so that we send material only where we may lawfully do so.
- Recorded automatically
- The date, time and IP address of your sign-up and of your subsequent confirmation, and the wording of the consent text shown to you.
Double opt-in
After you submit the form we send a single email asking you to confirm your subscription. Nothing further is sent unless you click the confirmation link. This confirms that the address belongs to you and gives us a record of your consent. If you do not confirm, your entry is deleted after REPLACE_UNCONFIRMED_RETENTION.
Processor
Our email delivery is handled by CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Schafjückenweg 2, 26180 Rastede, Germany, acting as a processor on our behalf under a data processing agreement concluded pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Your data is stored on servers located in REPLACE_CLEVERREACH_SERVER_LOCATION. CleverReach's own privacy information is available at cleverreach.com.
Measurement of our emails
Our emails contain a small image file and links that are individually coded. This allows us to see whether you have opened an email and which links you have clicked, so that we can adapt future content to the interests of our readers. This measurement is covered by the consent you give when signing up, and you can end it at any time by unsubscribing.
Legal basis and retention
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — your consent, given by
ticking the box on the form and confirming by email.
Retention: we keep your data for as long as you remain
subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your data is deleted from the mailing list
without delay, subject to section 7 below.
How to unsubscribe
Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link. You can also write to REPLACE_PRIVACY_EMAIL at any time. Withdrawing your consent has effect for the future and does not affect processing carried out before it.
7. Records of consent
Separately from the mailing list itself, we retain the record of your sign-up and confirmation — the timestamps, IP addresses, the consent wording shown, and copies of the confirmation emails — after you unsubscribe.
Purpose: German law places the burden of proving valid
consent on the sender of commercial email. We cannot demonstrate that we
acted lawfully if we delete the evidence along with the subscription.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with the
accountability obligation in Art. 5(2) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is
being able to defend ourselves against claims that email was sent without
consent.
Retention: REPLACE_CONSENT_EVIDENCE_RETENTION after the end
of the subscription, aligned with the applicable limitation period, after
which the record is deleted.
8. Contacting us
If you contact us by email, we process the address you write from and the content of your message in order to reply.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates
to a pre-contractual step; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate
interest in answering enquiries addressed to us.
Retention: until your enquiry is fully dealt with, unless
statutory retention obligations require us to keep the correspondence
longer.
9. External links and embedded media
This website links to third-party sites, including news publishers and event organisers. We have no control over their content or their data processing, and this policy does not apply to them. Following such a link is your own decision, and nothing is transmitted to those sites until you click.
Images displayed on this site are loaded from europeanspacebond.com and from europeanspaceventures.com, both operated by European Space Ventures AG. No third-party content is embedded.
10. Data security
This website is served over an encrypted TLS connection, indicated by https:// in the address bar. Data you submit through the sign-up form is transmitted in encrypted form. No method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website or to legal requirements. The version in force is the one published here, and the date at the top shows when it was last changed.
